A Different Kind of Fergie

Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal)This is pretty much a new side of Fergie. Most her songs are playful and groovy in nature. Take My Humps, London Bridges, and Fergilicious for example.

Big Girls Don't Cry gives us a taste of a more serious Fergie. Have a glimpse...

Big Girls Don't Cry
Fergie

Da Da Da Da
The smell of your skin lingers on me now
You're probably on your flight back to your home town
I need some shelter of my own protection baby
To be with myself and center, clarity
Peace, Serenity

[CHORUS:]
I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We've got some straightenin' out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry

The path that I'm walking
[Big Girls Don't Cry lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

I must go alone
I must take the baby steps 'til I'm full grown, full grown
Fairytales don't always have a happy ending, do they?
And I foresee the dark ahead if I stay

[CHORUS]

Like the little school mate in the school yard
We'll play jacks and uno cards
I'll be your best friend and you'll be mine Valentine
Yes you can hold my hand if you want to
'Cause I want to hold yours too
We'll be playmates and lovers and share our secret worlds
But it's time for me to go home
It's getting late, dark outside
I need to be with myself and center, clarity
Peace, Serenity

[CHORUS]

La Da Da Da Da Da

hey there. been following your posts for a bit now and as a fellow music lover myself, i have to disagree with your decision to waste blog space on fergie (!) lol.

much like rihanna, britney and the other business machine spawns, i think fergie is one of the prime examples of why more and more people are saying "commercial music sucks". there's no genuine talent and god knows why the cool Black Eyed Peas (circa 1998-2000) chose to put Fergie on board. well i know why (money), but it compromised will.i.am's vision of soulful and melodic music for that of rhythmic one-hit shorters (which is unfortunately what's been topping charts lately.. still).

i agree with your other tastes though :P

and i'd venture more into the underground world of soul and harmony if you want to find real hidden treasures!

peace,

and excuse my high and mighty pompous wording against such music as i am currently listening to Stevie's Innervisions :P
